Nell B. Cook

Nell B. Cook, 85, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, April 2, 2012. Born in Mitchell County, NC on September 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edgar Buchanan and Eula May Ledford Buchanan. Nell retired from Drexel Knitting Mills after 28 years.A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nell is survived by her children, Tom Cook and wife, Susann, Nancy Sawyer and husband, Jimmy, and Carolyn Beaver and husband, Johnny, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Greg Beaver, Brad Sawyer and wife, Sarah, and Megan Cook; great-grandchildren, Holly Beaver, Kyle Sawyer, Luke Sawyer.In addition to her parents, Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cook, and sisters, Ruth Entreken and Ora Shaffer.Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Lee officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home.
