Nellie Morrison Dobson

Nellie Morrison Dobson, 75, of Morganton passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. Born in Rutherford County, NC on August 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Morrison and Macie Devinney Morrison. Nellie was a member of Central Baptist Church. A very outgoing person, she loved her church and loved helping other people.Nellie is survived by her son, Robbie Dobson of Morganton; a granddaughter, Delanie Amor Dobson of Morganton; a brother, Jack Morrison and wife, Kathy, of Morganton; a sister, Rebecca Louise Arrowood of Morganton; special friends, Walter and Connie Callahan and Carolyn Clark, all of Morganton; nephews and nieces, Chip and Andy Dobson, Barbara Sharpe, Elizabeth Dobson, Debbie Bruns, Becky Brinegar, Tommy Morrison, Katie Nightengale, Adam Morrison, and Jody Morrison; a brother-in-law, Mac Dobson and wife, Elsa; and a sister-in-law, Mavis Dobson.In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert "Bob" Dobson; a brother, George Neal Morrison; and a sister, Helen Morrison Elliot.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior the service.
