Nettie Scott

Nettie Scott, 95, of Glen Alpine, NC went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2016. Born in Greenville, SC on November 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Fred Rawlings Epley and Minnie Finley Russ. Nettie was a wonderful homemaker and loved all her family. She was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lenoir Scott; son Ronnie Scott; brother, Atlas Epley; step-sister, Mildred Pressley; step-brother, Allen Epley; step-mother, Rose Ollis Epley; sister, Belle Duckworth and a step-sister, Betty Brittain.
Nettie is survived by daughters, Frances Scott, Janice Bradshaw, Laura Elias, and Rita Scott; half-brother, Fred Epley, Jr.; sisters, Raye Russ and Martha Huntley; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church with the Reverends Roger Brackett and Cris Uren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
