Noretta Wyke Carswell

Noretta Wyke Carswell, 75 of Glen Alpine, NC died Friday, February 15, 2013 in Crawley Memorial Hospital, Boiling Springs, NC. Born in Swain County, NC on January 12, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie Payne Wyke. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben, Earl, Jack and Sam Wyke; and a sister, Pauline Henueke.Surviving are her husband, William Leroy Carswell; children, Noretta Jane Brooks and husband, William J. Brooks of Rutherfordton and William Thomas Carswell of Morganton; four grandchildren; and sisters, Katherine Jolly of Gastonia, Bernice Hancock of Marble, NC, and Lavada Hardin of Royal Oaks, MI.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. In lieu of flowers a simple card will do.
