Oleane Stikeleather Lonon, 90, formerly of Morganton, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 in Thornton, Colorado following a period of declining health. She was born in Lincoln County, Arkansas on November 4, 1918 and was a daughter of the late Garland S. Stikeleather and Nona Mai Tilghmon Bechtel. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lonon was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gordon Lee "Stoky" Lonon, and by a sister, Dorothy E. Hensley. Oleane graduated in 1935 from Old Fort High School with a class of 20 students. Before moving to Colorado, Oleane was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.Surviving are her son, Al Lonon, of Broomfield, Colorado; her daughter Arleta Gale Britcher, of Golden Valley, Arizona; a sister, Opal Grant, of Marion, North Carolina; half brothers, Floyd, Louis, and Dave Peter Stikeleather all of Saginaw, Michigan; four grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Fr. Kenneth Whittington and Rev. Mr. James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church Building Fund, 728 W.
