Oma Weatherman Light

Oma Weatherman Light, 97, formerly of Jonas Ridge, NC. died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Centerclair Nursing Home in Lexington, NC. She was born September 30, 1910 in Burke County, and was a daughter of the late Jacob Christopher and Lillie Rose Weatherman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kenton Light; brothers, Charles, Henry, Curtis, and Webb Weatherman; and sisters, Bette Barrier, Cora Henson, and Clara Franklin McFalls.Oma is survived by her son, Walter Alan Light and wife, Anne, of Orangeburg, SC; her daughter, Sandra Light Myers and husband, Dan, of Lexington; grandchildren, David Light and wife, Tyndall, of San Angelo, Texas, Sherri Light Albro and husband, Bob, of Zionville, Pennsylvania, Stephanie Myers of Clemmons, NC; Amy Myers Page and husband, Jeremy, of Oak Ridge, NC, Beth Myers of Yuma, Arizona, and Jonathan Myers of Atlanta, Georgia; and great grandchildren, Clara Jean Light, Walter David Light, Brandon Albro, Benjamin Albro, Joseph Albro, Hannah Albro, Ethan Page, and Lucas Page.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Jonas Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Jonas Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home.
