Oneda Ollis

Oneda Ollis, 87, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born August 11, 1926 in McDowell County, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Reid Williams and Rose Mull Williams. Oneda was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and she attended the Morganton Burke Senior Center with her friends.She is survived by a son, Keith Ollis of Morganton; daughters, Margaret Gordon of Morganton, and Laqueta Carroll and husband, Jerry of Marion, NC; grandchildren, Kevin Carroll, Amanda Carroll, and Katie Gordon; and sisters, Avis Williams of Morganton, Rosanelle Chestnut of Folly Beach, SC, and Darlene Filiaggi of Wilmington, DE.In addition to her parents, Oneda was preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Ollis; a daughter, Rebecca Ollis; and a brother, Truman Williams.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Conforti officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
