Ora Hutchinson

Ora Hutchinson, 86, of River Road, Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton, NC following a period of declining health. She was born September 19, 1921 in Wilkesboro, NC, and was a daughter of the late Noah and Ida Long. Ora was an active member of Zion Road Baptist Church.She is survived by a son, James Hutchinson and wife, Miranda, of Connelly Springs; a daughter, Judy Butler and husband, Herman, of Morganton; brothers, Olen Long of Newton, Wayne Long of Hildebran, Roy Long of Hickory, and James Long of Conover; a sister, Margaret Felts of Wilkesboro; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Ora was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; Herman Hutchinson; brothers, Brad Long, Ward Long, and Willard Long; and a sister, Cora Shumate.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2008 at Zion Road Baptist Church with Reverends Micah Piercy and Daniel Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Judy Butler, 3201 River Rd., Morganton.
