Ossie Gettys Cline, 91, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at College Pines Nursing Center in Rutherford College, NC. She was born October 12, 1914 in Rutherford Co., NC, and was a daughter of the late Horace Gettys and Melissa Allen Gettys. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Bud Carroll, Charlie Panther, and Dewey Cline; a son, Howard Dean Carroll; and brothers, Roscoe Gettys and Glenn Gettys. She was employed by Broughton Hospital in the Dietary Department for many years until her retirement. Ossie was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by brothers, Hix Gettys and wife, Blanche, Kenneth Gettys and wife, Margaret, and James Gettys and wife, Dorothy, all of Cleveland County; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 12, 2005 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Duncans Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rutherford County. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
