Ovena Gallimore Lingerfelt

Ovena Gallimore Lingerfelt, 78, of Duckworth Drive, Morganton, NC, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at Hospice of Catawba Valley Palliative CareCenter after a period of declining health. Born December 29, 1928 in Davidson County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Wade Gallimore and Pearl Leonard Gallimore. In addition to her parents, Ovena was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Lingerfelt. Mrs. Lingerfelt was a retired sales clerk for John Grahams and Tobias clothing.

Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Lingerfelt are her children, Joy Patterson and husband, Everett, of Morganton, Billy Kim Sechrest and wife, Penny, of Morganton, and Etta Kay Sechrest and husband, Thom Richardson, of Dragoon, AZ; step-children, Danny Lingerfelt, Barbara Lingerfelt, and Jackie Ward, all of Morganton; a grandchild, Jessica Patterson of Morganton; step-grandchildren, Jeremy Grady of Morganton, Hanna Rienks of PA, Jason Grady of Morganton, and Jeremy Richardson; one niece and nephew, and a number of special friends.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Lineberger officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
