Pamela Chapman Benfield, 66, of Morganton, NC entered her eternal home on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born in Dayton, OH on April 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Jack Murray Chapman and Eleanor Jean Mull Chapman. Pamela was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. She attended Abundant Life Tabernacle and was a retired employee of Southern Devices with over 31 years of service.Pamela is survived by her children, Connie Loveless and her husband, Auston, of Lenoir, William Garrison and his wife, Porsche, of Morganton, Zane Garrison and his wife, Jennifer, of Morganton, Cindy Howell and her husband, Melvin, of Conover, and Tommy Benfield, Jr. of Glen Alpine; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who she dearly loved; brothers, Miles Chapman and Mark Chapman; and sisters, Peggy Dennis and Linda Chapman.In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Benfield.A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor David McNeil officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
