Pamela Edge, 63, of Nebo passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Born in Yancey County, NC on August 10, 1954, she was the daughter of Jack Lee Edge, Sr. of Morganton and the late Jo Ann Buchanan Edge.
She graduated from East Yancey High School in Burnsville, NC and from Queens College in Charlotte with a degree in fashion merchandising. She was formerly of Surfside Beach, where she was the manager of the Community Assistance Thrift Store. She also lived in Anderson, SC where she operated a medical uniform store. She most recently resided in Morganton to be the caregiver for her mother, Jo.
Pamela was a single mother who raised 2 beautiful children, instilling in them the importance of family. She always welcomed and helped raise children of both family and friends. She spent her entire life helping others in her personal and professional lives. She was most recently an event coordinator for the Morganton Elks Lodge and volunteered with the Care Foundation of Western North Carolina. She enjoyed life on Lake James with her family and dogs.
Pamela is survived by her children, Kayla Leeann Edge and Justin Alaison Bigwitch Edge and his girlfriend, Michaela Cox; sister, Vickie Edge West and husband, Jeff; brother, Jack Lee Edge, Jr. and wife, Rhonda; niece, Amy Lee Edge; and great-niece, Abbie N. Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Mike Costner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Care Foundation of Western NC, 121 Laurel Hills Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.
