Pansy Lewis Dale

Pansy Lewis Dale, 79, of Morganton went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Born in Madison County, NC on February 3, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Andy Lewis and Hattie Crow Lewis. Pansy was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where she loved to sing.She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ned Lenoir Dale of the home; a son, Garry Dale and wife, Jane, of Morganton; a daughter, Phyllis King and husband, Tim, of Morganton; grandchildren, Jamie Dale, Jeremy Dale, Lacey King, and Nathanael King; a brother, David Lewis and wife, Jane; and sisters, Marie Willis and husband, Edgar, Dorothy Thorpe and husband, Kenneth, Helen Fish and husband, Owen, and Thelma Ponder and husband, Vernon. Pansy was a special "MawMaw" to Amy George, Glenda Jackson, Amber Peterson, and Audrey Chapman.In addition to her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by two brothers, R. J. Lewis and Andy Lewis, Jr.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Dewey Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
