Pat Lawing Setzer

Pat Lawing Setzer, 67, of Morganton, NC went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Born October 2, 1946 in McDowell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee Lawing and Annie Bell Snipes Lawing. Pat attended Laurel Haven Baptist Church and was the founder of Simply Jesus Ministries. Pat was always willing to lend a helping hand to other people. She retired from Broughton Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse.A loving mother, sister, and friend to all, Pat is survived by her sons, Charles S. Setzer, Jr. and William Brett Setzer, both of Morganton; brothers, Jimmy Lawing and his wife, Carla of Bethlehem, NC, and Rev. Ed Lawing and wife, Jane of Morganton; former husband, Steve Setzer; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by a son, Jason Setzer.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Ed Lawing and Rev. Andrew Lackey officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
