Patricia Duckworth Piercy

Patricia Duckworth Piercy, 67, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, December 2, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Minick Duckworth and Mildred Loray Webb Duckworth.  Patricia was a member of Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Sherrill’s Furniture after twenty years of service.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Piercy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Lee Piercy of home; grandchildren, Mikall Piercy, Taylor Piercy, Tyler Piercy, Dillian Piercy, and Kenneth Piercy and his wife, Tuty, all of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Bo and Hunter Piercy; brothers, Larry Duckworth, Stanley E. Duckworth and his wife, Cathy, and Tony Duckworth, all of Morganton; sisters, Rita Duckworth of Morganton, Kay Baldridge of Morganton, Sherry Parlier and her husband, Ricky, of Valdese, NC, Betty Kerley and her husband, Terry, of Taylorsville, NC, Barbara Gragg and her husband, John, of Hickory, NC, and Jackie Evans and her husband, Steve, of Granite Falls, NC; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her sons, Gary lee Piercy and Michael Piercy.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church.  The funeral will be held at the church at 2 p.m. with the Reverends Kenneth Milam and Ron Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  At other times the family will be at the home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
