Patricia Hamaker Gahagan

Patricia Hamaker Gahagan, 86, of Morganton, NC died Sunday, April 21, 2013. Born in Spokane, WA on February 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert Frederick Hamaker and Ruth Mae Kelly Hamaker. Patricia was very active member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church and was a great supporter of her pastor. She dearly loved her church and her Grace Ridge Family.A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Gahagan is survived by her sons, Robert Barrett Gahagan, Jr. and his wife, LuAann, of Norfolk, VA and John Frederick Gahagan and his wife, Judith, of Richmond, VA; a daughter, Patricia Gahagan Winfree and her husband, Joseph, of Richmond; grandchildren, Robert Barrett Gahagan, II, Jennifer Colleen Winfree Hultz and her husband, Mark, and Joseph Todd Winfree; sisters, Sally Ann Windh and Susan Marie Seine, both of California; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Gahagan of Virginia Beach, VA.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gahagan, Sr.The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Catawba Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Odom officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family will also receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.Memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Valley Baptist Church Building Fund, 706 Lenoir Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
