Patricia LaJean Jirka, 90, of Morganton, NC passed away, Friday, August 2, 2024. Patricia was born on a farm near Spalding, Nebraska om January 19, 1934. Her parents were John and Mary Naughtin. She was the youngest of five daughters.

She was baptized on March 1973 in Fremont, Nebraska as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was an active member of various congregations in Omaha, NE and Morganton, NC through her late days.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 oldest siblings, her husband of 59 years, Adolph “Al” Jirka, daughter, Teresa Jirka and son Karl Jirka. She is survived by her sister Bernadette “Bunny” McQueen, daughter, Jean Duffy (James), son Edward Jirka (Nancy) and daughter, Katherine Jirka and grandsons Brian Duffy (Sarah) and Ian Duffy.

Mrs. Jirka lived with complete certainty in the Bible’s promise that in the near future there will be one government over the whole earth (Daniel 2:44); the human experience will be free of death (Revelation 21:4); “no resident will say: ‘I am sick’” (Isaiah 33:24); and even she herself will be among those “powerless in death” who will “come to life” (Isaiah 26:19).

A private internment will be held at a later date in Omaha, NE.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
