Patsy Fisher Compton

Patsy Fisher Compton, 80, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, April 14, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Fisher and Pansy Hudson Fisher.  Patsy was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church and volunteer for Burke Hospice and Palliative Care for 20 years.

Mrs. Compton is survived by sons, Mark Rhyne of Winston-Salem, NC, Jimmy Rhyne of Morganton, and Robert “Bo” Rhyne of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, David Rhyne, Katie Rhyne, and Hanna Rhyne; brothers, Bobby Jo Fisher of Winter Haven, FL, Vick Fisher of Hickory, NC, and Roger Fisher of Hickory; and a very special friend, Carol Smith.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward P. Rhyne, Sr.; second husband, Allen Compton; a son, Edward P. Rhyne, Jr.; and 5 sisters, Roberta Baber, Lucille Fisher, Jonny Lee Summerlin, Oleta Leonhardt, and Joy Browning.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at North Morganton Baptist Church.  The memorial service will be held at 1 pm in the church with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating.
