Patsy Ritchie, 78, of Drexel, NC, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023.
Born in Burke County, NC on August 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Willie Everette Ritchie and Julette Comar Duckworth Ritchie. Patsy had attended Zion Methodist Church. She worked as a dental hygienist in Forest City and later worked at Spainhour Department Store and the Morganton Moose Lodge. She had been a former Senior Regent for the Women of the Moose.
Patsy is survived by her greatest friend, Teddy Rhoney; brother, Slayton Ritchie (Gayle); and nephew, Clay D. Ritchie.
In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Sherell Buchanan.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kimberly B. Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
