Paul Gregory “Greg” Whisnant

Paul Gregory “Greg” Whisnant, 67, of Morganton went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2022, after an extended illness. His courage and strength were inspirational to those who knew him. Greg was born in Burke County on January 29, 1955, to the late Paul Revere Whisnant and Esther Grady Whisnant. He was a retired electrician from NCSD.

Greg is survived by his wife, Connie Baldwin Whisnant; son, Paul Benjamin Whisnant; sisters, Barbee Ann Whisnant-Burgess (Riley) and Robin Paulette Whisnant Powell (Darwin); nieces, nephews, aunts and an uncle. Greg is also survived by a special dog named Chewie.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by a brother, Todd McDowell Whisnant.

The service in his memory will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11 am with Pastor Rex Shaver officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church at 1834 Hwy 70 East, Morganton NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
