Paul L. Orders, 80, of Sundown Road in Morganton died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health. He was born July 3, 1929 in Burke County, and was a son of the late Jonas and Lula McGalliard Orders. Paul was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed eating a "good steak". He never met a stranger, and was a friend to all.Paul is survived by his wife of 30 years, Johnnie Orders of the home; children, Sandy Dubrow and husband, Richard, of Guyton, GA, Christy Ingersoll and husband, Tom of Drexel, and Katona Hoopsick and husband, Joe, of Niagara Falls, NY; step-children, Terry Reid and wife, Frances, of Chattanooga, TN, and Anthony "Tony" White of Morganton; a brother, Alfred Orders and wife, Zula, of Glen Alpine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one nephew, David Orders.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Witkowski; and a grandson, Todd Jackson.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2009 at Autumn Care of Drexel with Rev. Michael Brown officiating. The burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Al. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home in Jasper, Al and Sossoman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
