Paul McKinley Branch

Paul McKinley Branch, Jr., 67, of Asheville, NC died Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born in Burke County on July 11, 1947 and was a son of the late Paul McKinley Branch, Sr. and Frances Edna Harris Branch. Paul was a U. S. Army veteran where he served in the military police in San Antonia, TX from 1966-1968. He was in the printing business for over 38 years until his retirement. After retirement until his illness, Paul worked at the YMCA in Asheville in the Childcare. Paul was a member of Central Baptist Church and a former member of Morganton Freewill Baptist Church.
A very loving husband, father, and grandfather, Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Cable Branch of the home; daughters and their husbands, Paula and Manny Mojica of Marion and Faith and Martin Smith of Asheville; grandchildren, Jordan and Bailey Mojica and Greyson, Selah, Zech, Zoe, and Kayla Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Jamie, Adair, Mark, Rebecca, Wendy, and Kimberly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Vernon Harris.
The funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Brother Ernie Cable officiating. The burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Western North Carolinas State Veterans Cemetery. Military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to YMCA of Western NC, 3 Town Square Blvd., Asheville, NC 28803.
