Paul "Papaw June" McClellan

Paul "Papaw June" McClellan, 74, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Born in Avery County, NC on March 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Obie McClellan and Ethel Tolley McClellan Wiseman. Paul was a member of River Valley Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School class and Bible school. He owned and operated McClellan Wiseman Logging and loved fishing with his family and friends.Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joann Smith McClellan of the home; a son, Paul D. McClellan and wife, Donna, of Morganton; daughters, Betty Burk and husband, Roy, of Morganton, Angie Clay and husband, Tim, of Morganton, and Debbie Propst and husband, Paul, of Newton, NC; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack McClellan, Michael McClellan, Jim Wiseman, Phillip Wiseman, and Tony Wiseman; sisters, Leona Ingram, Rose Justice, Donna Chapel, Ann Maney, Pam Carswell, Ruby Tyree, Terry McClellan, Becky Weaver, and Rose Justice; and numerous nephews and nieces.In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, John Wiseman; and two sisters, Sue McClellan and Barbara Issac.The funeral will be held at 3pm, Sunday, May 27, 2012 at River Valley Baptist Church with Reverends Kenneth Shew and Charlie Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to River Valley Baptist Church, 1945 Conley-Bumgarner Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
