Paul R. Bailey

Paul R. Bailey, 84, of Morganton, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Born on March 8, 1935 he was the son of the late Charles and Bennie Bailey. Paul retired from Great Lakes Carbon with 43 years of service. After retirement, he loved to play golf at Quaker Meadows Golf Course and loved to play baseball. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins fan.

Paul is survived by his children, Michael Bailey (Laurie), Sherri McGimsey (Eddie), Lori Hensley (Mike); grandchildren, Ryan Bailey, Jack Bailey, Matt McGimsey, Nick McGimsey (Autumn), Tyler Hensley (Megan); great-grandchildren, Isaiah McGimsey, Eden McGimsey, Skylar Hensley; brother, Earl Bailey (Frances); sisters, Faye Lail (Hubert), Mary Ellen Lesley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jean Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Paul’s home.
