Paul William Duckworth

Paul William Duckworth, 89, of Morganton, NC died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Magnolia Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Burke County, NC on December 29, 1921, he was the son of the late W. Henry Duckworth and Minerva Williams Duckworth. Paul loved his community. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and especially Lake James. He was a fan of bluegrass music.Paul is survived by sons, Randy and Wayne Duckworth, both of Morganton; and sisters, Ellen Nichols and Nancy Reep, both of Valdese, NC.In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Faye Houck Duckworth; brothers, Everett, Oliver Ray, and Jim Duckworth; and sisters, Oralee Carswell, Louise Eller, and Ruby Miller.The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the N.C.
