Paula Sue Terry

Paula Sue Terry, 61, died Monday, November 8, 2010, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Williamson, WV on August 10, 1949 and was a daughter of Geraldine R. Sloan Hoffman of Columbus, OH and the late Paul David Hoffman. Paula Sue was a member of First Assembly of God where she served on the Women’s Council.In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of forty-four years, Douglas Terry, Sr. of the home; her children, Douglas Terry, Jr. and his wife, Tracey, of Lenoir, James E. Terry and his wife Alisa, of Glenpool, OK, and Jennifer McKnight and her husband, Scott, of Mooresville; her grandchildren, Brandon, Brian, Bradley, Jamie, Scottie, Alaina, Douglas, Michael, and Amy Terry; brother, Steve Hoffman; sister, Carol Hoffman both of Columbus, OH; and an aunt, Colleen Stanley, of Toler, KY.Paula Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who also loved her "Yorkies", Lexie, Sassy, Razzie, and Cody.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul David Hoffman, Jr.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at First Assembly of God with Pastor Daniel Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God, Celebrate Recovery, 1955 U. S. 70 East, Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family.Paula wrote these words as part of her living will on December 13, 1989: "I believe that I will have life eternal with Jesus Christ. I do not cling to this life. He is the great Physician and in him I put my trust!"
