Pauline Smith Goins

Pauline Smith Goins, 85, of Connelly Springs, NC died Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at her residence following a period of declining health. Born October 22, 1925 in Catawba County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Audie Smith and Eva Hood Smith. Pauline attended the First Baptist of Grace Chapel. She loved her fish pond, her Teddy bear collection, and working in her flower gardens.A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Pauline is survived by sons, Robert E. Goins of Conover, Bobby Goins and Thomas Goins, both of Morganton, Roy Goins of Glen Alpine, and Roger Goins and Ricky Goins, both of Connelly Springs; daughters, Debbie Willix of Granite Falls, Judy Stephens of Icard, and Patsy Reep of Lawndale; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, George Smith of Newton; and a nephew, George ?Butch? Smith, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ.In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Goins; a son, Teddy Goins; and a daughter, Betty Parker.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2011 at Soloman Queen Cemetery in Connelly Springs with Dr. Carl Willix officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
