Peggy G. Thompson

Peggy G. Thompson, 77, of Morganton, NC went to her Heavenly Home, Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was born on July 16, 1942 in Burke County to the late Joseph Paul Glass and Eugenia Mae Johnson Glass. Peggy was member of Israel Chapel AME Church. She retired from MDI in Hickory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Benjamin F. Connelly, Sr. and daughter, Crystal C. Berry.

Peggy is survived by her son, Ricky Allen Connelly; daughter, Valerie Ann Johnson (Bobby); grandchildren, Alexia Marie Connelly, Jordun Antoinette Lawrence, Taylor Ann Connelly Rodriguez (Steven), Ricky Connelly Jr., and Jordy Connelly; beloved great-grandchildren, Allen Lamar, Janyia, A’myiah, Ma’ryiah Connelly, Rylie Ann Rodriguez; brothers, Paul Joseph Glass (Jean), Leroy Glass, and John Henry Glass (Savannah); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews she treasured.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm, Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will begin at 2:00pm in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Pastor Phyllis Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery.
