Peggy Hennessee Ballew

Peggy Hennessee Ballew, 76, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2019.  Born in Rutherford County, NC on September 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Emanuel Hennessee and Mozelle Hastings Hennessee.  Peggy was a member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church and a Gideon Auxiliary Member.  She was a graduate of Montreat College and Gardner Webb University, and she retired from the NC Department of Revenue.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing and repairing clothing for family and friends, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandsons.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Peggy is survived by her husband, Ralph Clifford Ballew; children, Brian Ballew (Susie) and Andrea Ballew Puckett (Philip); grandchildren, Teague Ballew, Wilson Puckett, and Truman Puckett; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by four siblings, Katherine King, R.L. Hennessee, Evelyn Sulc, and Earl Hennessee.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Catawba Valley Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. in the church with Rev. Dean Hart officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Valley Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon’s International.
