Peggy Louise "Nanny" Parton Sparkman

Peggy Louise "Nanny" Parton Sparkman, 68, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Born July 29, 1943 in Wilmington, NC, she was a daughter of the late Everett Grady Parton and Vestal Virginia Mikeal Parton. Peggy was a retired employee of Broughton Hospital.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Sparkman of Morganton; sons, Donald D. Price and wife, Tamara, of Hildebran, and Kenneth D. Price and wife, Angie, of Connelly Springs; grandchildren, Matthew A. Price and his mother, Kim Oliver and step-father, Randy, Kendra L. Brucke, and Sharla Moore; siblings, Barbara Sells and Thomas W. Parton, both of Lenoir, NC, and Jerry D. Parton of Hickory, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews that Peggy loved just like her children.In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, James David Sparkman; and a brother, Perry Grady Parton.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012 Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Valdese with Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. Interment of the ashes will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour before the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence on Piedmont Rd.
