Phil Douglas Young

Phil Douglas Young, 70, of Morganton, NC died Monday, April 30, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. He was born in McDowell County on April 19, 1942 and was the son of the late Clarence Milton Young and Tempie Ann Thomas Young. Phil was a Navy Veteran and was an exceptional father to his son, Bryan Young of the home.Surviving in addition to his son are his companion, Patricia Jordan, of Morganton; and a number of cousins and friends.In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by a brother, Jack D. Young.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Reverends David Bean, Jerry Robinson and Terry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
