Phil Whisenant

Phil Whisenant, 57, of Morganton, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Born on June 10, 1964, he was the son of Perry Lee Whisenant and the late William Gray Whisenant. Phil attended Christ United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of East Burke High School and attended an audio/video technical school in Los Angeles, CA. Phil enjoyed playing the drums in high school, church and bands.

In addition to his mother, Phil is survived by his brother, Steven Gray Whisenant (Marilyn); sister, Vickie Lee Buchanan (Richard); nieces, Jennifer Whisenant Amundson, Samantha Buchanan McCoy.

The family will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm, Friday, July 30, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
