Phillip Eugene Ervin, 73 of Morganton NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 11, 2021. Born on March 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Osea Long and Leola McDowell Ervin. Phillip was a member of Shiloh AME Church where he sang in the choir. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Phillip retired from Broughton Hospital. He also worked at Foothills Area Programing for many years and Cole’s Auto.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Fannie Avery Ervin; daughters, Larkina Ervin-Lynch (Johnny), Tuliza Stacy Ervin (Timothy); grandchildren, Baron J, Kanipe, Jaron V. Kanipe, Keion M. Ervin, Tyriq D. Ervin; great grandchild, Knoxx A. Kanipe; brothers Lawrence Ervin, John Ervin, Bruce Ervin, Waddell Ervin (Carol); sister, Marjorie Ervin; sister-in-law, Yolanda Ervin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Ervin; and sister, Annie Ervin.
Family and friends may come by Sossoman Funeral Home from 3pm until 6pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 to pay their respect to the Ervin family. The funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh AME Church. Military honors will be provided by the US Air Force.
