Phillip Ray "Phil" Robinson, 66, of Nebo died Saturday, June 7, 2014. Phil was born May 24, 1948 in Burke County to the late Raymond Dewitt Robinson, Sr. and Annie Lucille Carswell Robinson. He was a member of Linville United Methodist Church and a retired veteran of the NC Air National Guard he also served four years active duty with the US Air Force and one year with the NC Army National Guard. Phil was a member of Oak Hill, Lake James and Longtown Fire Departments and a Railroad Buff and was retired from Broughton Hospital. Phil loved his grandchildren and children in general, he enjoyed refurbishing bicycles for Christmas Cheer and always had a story or joke to tell.
Phil is survived by his wife, Deborah Carswell Robinson; sons, Chad Phillip Robinson and his wife, Amanda of Nebo and Bradley Neal Robinson and fiancée, Rebecca Gilbert of Morganton; grandchildren, Noah Robinson, Daniell Robinson and Megan Robinson; brothers, Raymond Robinson, Jr. of Morganton and Michael Robinson and his wife, Julia of Lenoir and sister, Ann Robinson of Morganton.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev Neal F. Brantley, Jr. officiating. Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. Please join the family in a celebration of his life following the service in the fellowship hall.
