Phyllis A. Palmieri

Phyllis A. Palmieri, 62, of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011. Born in Bethlehem, PA on October 19, 1948, she was the daughter of Margaret Rizzo Cunningham and husband, Clayton, of Easton, PA. Phyllis attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and Unitarian Universalists of Caldwell County.Phyllis graduated from Wilson Borough High School in Easton, PA. She then attended and received her law degree from West Virginia University. Miss Palmieri moved to Morganton around 1990 and worked for Legal Aide; she established her own private practice around 1998.In addition to her parents, Phyllis is survived by three sons, Neil Roth of Boston, MA, Morgan Kelly of Princeton, NJ, and Seth King of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Michael Palmer of Hawthorne, CA; and grandchildren, Peter, Nicholas, and Angela Roth of Boston and Zachary Reynolds of High Point, NC.The funeral Mass will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Rev. Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A Rosary will be said for Phyllis at 4:45 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 728 West Union Street, Morganton, NC 28655 or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.The family would like to give thanks to all of her friends who helped her during this difficult time.
