Phyllis Elaine Minton

Phyllis Elaine Minton, 73, of Sargent, TX, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015. She was born December 13, 1941 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late William Tommy Bright and Mary Floyde Hewitt Bright. She was the wife of a 20 year Navy Veteran. She was a breast cancer survivor and was loved by all. The family wishes to thank Burke Hospice for their loving care.
Surviving is her husband, Al Minton; daughter, Deborah Harwood and husband, Perry of Morganton, NC; son, Billy Roberts and wife, Debbie of Hertford, NC; mother-in-law, Alice Minton and brother-in-law, Marvin Minton, both of Houston, TX; brothers, Elton Bright of Pine Top, NC, Doug Bright and wife, Linda of Elizabeth City, NC; sisters, Selma Parron and husband, Bruce of Adylette, NC, Susan Haubrich and husband, Bill of Elizabeth City, NC; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by brothers, Sanford and Franklin Bright; father-in-law, Alan Minton; son, Eddie Roberts; daughter, Cindy Harwood; great-grandson, Carson Hensley.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will gather at the home of Deborah and Perry Harwood. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Rd, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
