Phyllis Jean Hensley Dulaney, 84, of Drexel, NC, died Friday, October 25, 2024.

Born in Yancey County, NC on May 31, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Roland Hensley and Nora Elkins Hensley. Phyllis was a homemaker and dearly loved her family.

Mrs. Dulaney is survived by children, Keith Dulaney (Monica), Debbie Kincaid (John), Pam Farris (Tim), and Gary Dulaney (Betty); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, David Dulaney.

The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Care of Drexel for their compassionate care of Mrs. Dulaney.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Dulaney's passing. I worked with Keith and he loved his Mom. I will be praying for all the family, only God can give comfort during this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a wonderful lady and always made us feel welcome. I remember when David and Phyllis got married she was the light of his life.
