Princess Pearson Burns, 92, of Morganton, NC passed away quietly on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Burke Palliative Care Center in Valdese, NC. Born in Burke County, NC on May 26, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Dock Horton Pearson and Fronie Cannon Pearson.Princess is survived by her daughter, Frances Burns Braswell of Morganton, and her children, Kecia Staib and husband, Erich, of Cary, NC, Amy Lowman and husband, Kelly, of Granite Falls, NC, and Lynn Braswell of Granite Falls; a son, Buddy R. Burns of Houston, TX, and his sons, Ron Ray of San Antonio, TX, and Sean Hulme and wife, Rochelle, of Chandler, TX; great-grandchildren, Kate, Eryn, Kelly, Julian, Wesley, Michael, Riley, Bailey, and Lily; a sister, Sallie Lingerfelt of Morganton; a sister-in-law, Mary Frye Pearson of Drexel, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Princess was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Amos Fillmore Burns; two infant grandsons, Michael Todd Burns and Steven Francis Braswell; and five brothers and five sisters.Princess will be greatly missed. She loved to sing, dance, laugh, and sew. She was a beautiful lady. A celebration of Mrs. Burns’ life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
