Rachel Ann McCurry, 72, of Forest City, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Roy Mae McCurry and Verna Geneva Poteet McCurry. Rachel grew up in the Baptist faith. She taught math at Chase High School for 28 years.
Rachel is survived by her brother, David McCurry (Wilma) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by brothers, Dalton Whisenant, Bob Whisenant, and Paul McCurry; sisters, Rama Quigley (Larry), G.C. Carpenter, and Betty Towery (Talmadge).
The graveside service will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dean McCurry officiating.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills and Henderson Care Center for the love and compassion shown to Rachel.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
