Rachel Nicole Wilkins

Rachel Nicole Wilkins, 21, of Morganton passed away Friday, February 16, 2018.  Born in Longwood, FL on November 5, 1996, she is the daughter of Travis Lee Wilkins and Tonya Lynn Podubynskyj Wilkins of the home.  She was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church.

Rachel was an outstanding, strong young lady who never let her illness define her.  She was a giving and considerate person.  She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh.  Rachel held her family close to her heart.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Easton Reid Wilkins of the home; grandparents, Jodi Milks, Bill and Wendy Podubynskyj, and Debra and Terry Wilkins; great-grandparents, William and Sandra Milks; uncles, Billy Podubynskyj and wife, Tanya, and Joseph Wilkins; and several great-aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rachel was preceded in death by her great-great-grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Futch; great-grandparents, Bob and Marty Wilkins, Helen and Johnny Bledson, and Bob and Carol Podubynskyj; and an uncle, Jonathan Podubynskyj.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Burkemont Baptist Church.  A celebration of Rachels’ life will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the church.
