Ralph “Doug” Newton, 61, of Hudson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 4, 2017. He was born January 6, 1956 in McDowell County, NC and was the son of the late Ralph Newton and Betty Berryhill Newton.
Doug was a teacher at CCC&TI where he taught both Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. He was a stubborn man who was passionate about music: singing, playing and writing. Doug also enjoyed family movie night on the big screen TV well into the kids adult years. If you by chance find a TowneHouse pie in pineapple flavor, enjoy one in his memory.
He is survived by his children: Dana Martinez and husband Rene, of Hudson, Nikki Newton and Casey Newton, both of Lenoir; former wife: Tracy Fiano of League City, TX; sisters: Brenda Morrow, Vickie Laws and husband Doug, all of Marion, and Teresa Brown and husband John of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration bonfire will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017. Please contact Dana for directions.
