Ralph E. Williams, 71, of Morganton, NC passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on September 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert Ed Williams and Aileen Ferree Williams. Ralph owned and operated R.W. Mobile Home Movers. He developed two mobile home parks one in Drexel and one in Morganton. He developed and owned Hyacinth Hills sub-division. He later co-owned and operated R. & W. Hauling and Grading. Along with his life-partner, Jeannie, he enjoyed travelling all over the U.S and Europe . He was a kind and loving father, grandfather, life partner and friend.
Mr. Williams is survived by his life-partner of 33 years, Jeannie Edwards of the home; daughters, Debbie Hamby of Morganton, Tracy Wilson and her husband, Michael, of South Dakota, Gwena Morgan and her husband, Frank, Jr, of Raleigh, NC, and Mandy Edwards of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Haley Wilson, Devin Hamby, and Banks Morgan; an uncle, Ned Ferree of South Carolina; an aunt, Delorise Ewell of Morganton; and special friends, Jerry Benfield and Clyde Roberts and his family.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Williams.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.
