Ralph Herman Sullinger

Ralph Herman Sullinger, 75, of Morganton, NC passed away, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at his residence. Born in Ravenden Springs, AR on November 11, 1936, he was the oldest child of the late William Arvil Sullinger and Helen Jenkins Sullinger. Ralph graduated from Ravenden Springs High School in 1954 and Ouachita Baptist University in 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ralph lived most of his adult life in Illinois and Wisconsin until he retired in 1999 as controller of Promotions Unlimited Corporation in Racine, WI. After his retirement, he moved to Morganton.Ralph was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, was a Gideon for many years, and loved dancing and acting.Ralph is survived by his wife, Estelle Jones Sullinger of the home; children, Teresa Sullinger and companion, Annie Albarran, of Chicago, IL, Stuart Sullinger and wife, Paula, of Kansas City, MO, and Adam Sullinger and wife, Donna, of Honolulu, HI; step-children, Donna Flowers of Sanford, NC and James Wicker of Greenville, NC; six lovely grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Eula Schell of Jonesboro, AR and Emma Sullinger of Houston, TX; a brother, Stan Sullinger and wife, Kima, of TX; and their families.The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 4:00 until 4:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center in Morganton. A cryptside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Garden of Meditation at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum from 2:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
