Ralph Junior Benfield, 83 of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019. Ralph was born June 1, 1936 to the late Richard and Rebecca (Whisnant) Benfield. Ralph loved to spend his time roaming around flea markets to see what treasures came his way and just driving around to see where the road would lead him.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Peggy McLean (Tony), Tiny Riddle (Kelly); sons, Curtis Benfield (Sandy), Tony Benfield (Libby), and Jerry Benfield; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren that called him PawPaw; two sisters, Frances Setzer and Helen Browning.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lois Buff Benfield; son, Charles Benfield; daughter, Mary Spurling; two sisters and four brothers.
Ralph was a husband, son, dad, Pawpaw, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and a friend to many many people. Rest in heavenly peace daddy. We will miss you dearly and love you forever.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 3:00pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Mt. View #2 Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3:00pm in the church with the Pastor Wesley Fredell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery
