Ray Lewis Buff

Ray Lewis Buff, 75, Morganton, NC died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at his residence. Born in Burke County, NC on January 31, 1939, he was the son of the late Ambrose Lenoir Buff and Annie Lee Stamey Buff. For many years he owned and operated Buffs Used Cars in Glen Alpine.Ray is survived by grandchildren, Jamey L. Griffin and wife, Melissa of Morganton; Jeana Ellis and husband, Damon and Tara Martin all of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-daughters, Pamm Gaff, Rhonda Martin and Peggy Powell; number of great grandchildren including Dylyn Ray Griffin; sisters, Minnie Benfield, Lois Benfield and husband Ralph all of Morganton, Kathleen "Kitten" Buff of Drexel and Jeanette Nichols and husband, Buddy of Robbinsville, NC and his former wife, Cullie Buff of Ft. Wayne, IN.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son, Jimmy Ray Buff; brothers, William Earl Buff and Marvin Lenoir Buff; sisters, Eloise Messer and Eula Mae Costner.A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Douglas Woody officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
