Rebecca Ann McMahon

Rebecca Ann McMahon, 71, of Morganton, NC passed away Monday, November 26, 2018.  Born November 23, 1947 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Julius Edgar Branch and Zelma Laws Allen.

Mrs. McMahon was of the Baptist faith.  She loved being with her family and friends and was always wearing a smile.  One of her joys was singing with her family.  Rebecca volunteered with the singing group, John and the Sand Baggers at many nursing homes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Branch; sisters, Linda Stamey, and Estelle Nolland; and an infant brother.

Mrs. McMahon is survived by her husband, Phillip M. Mahon, Sr.; daughter, Dena Parton and children, Tyler Parton, Becca Parton, Kayla Laney, Samuel Laney, and Skyler Parton; son, Arthur (Dino) Olsen, Jr. and Karen and children, Brad Crump, Bhrett Crump, and Lexi Crump; and step-children, Sherree Glover and Lonnie, Michael McMahon and Melody, Susan Greene, and Phillip McMahon, Jr.; sister, Mozelle Allen; and a number of grandchildren, great-grand-children, nephews, and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
