Mrs. Mitchell was my 1st grade teacher at Glen Alpine Elementary. Being a youngster of 6 and 7 yrs old at the time and some 48 years later I have never forgotten her. She must have left an incredible impression upon me at a young age and was one of the greatest of all time teachers to ever teach. A friend of mine once told me she said to pass on a hello for her. Well done Mrs Mitchell well done!

There was never a kinder, more loving person as Rebecca. I knew her in college and remained her friend until her death. I am glad her pain is over and she is in the company of Jesus. Praise be to God for her life.

I was sad to learn of Rebecca’s death. I knew her from Westchester Country Day School, where we both taught. She was a light and a calming presence. Her steadfast faith was always visible. She was loved by her students and all who knew her.
