Reno R. Theriault, 85, of Morganton died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Grace Hospital. He was born May 13, 1925 in Eagle Lake, ME, and was a son of the late Leon Theriault and Catherine Cormier Theriault. Reno was a corporal in the US Army 8th Infantry Division, and served in Europe during World War II. As a civilian, he worked as a machinist for the Department of the Army Watervliet Arsenal. Reno attended the First Assembly of God Church, Morganton, NC.He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Marie Michaud Theriault of the home; children, Linda T. Dunn of Black Mountain, NC, Gail Mitchell and husband, John of Burnt Hills, NY, and Philip Theriault and wife, Lori of Cody, WY; grandchildren, Jared, Jason, and Jonathan Dunn, Felice Ford, Claudia Mitchell, Nikolaus and Joshua Pieper and their father, Herbert Pieper, Eric and Adam Theriault; great-grandchildren, Kyree Dunn, J. Maximilian Percent, and Logan Mitchell-Rosa; and two brothers and seven sisters.In addition to his parents, Reno was preceded in death by daughters, Doreen Theriault and Paula Pieper; and one brother and one sister.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 in the chapel at Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Military rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. Memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Outreach Center, 510 E. Fleming Dr., Morganton, NC 28655.
