Rex Allen Dale

Rex Allen Dale, 59, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 after a period of declining health. Born in Burke County, NC, he was the son of Clara Carpenter Dale and the late Robert Alexander Dale, Jr. Rex was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church. He loved hunting and fishing. He was a 1971 graduate of Morganton High School, where he enjoyed sports and athletics. Rex was a very loving and giving person.A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Rex is survived by his wife, Nita Conley Dale of the home; a daughter, Dana Danielle Thompson and her husband, Cameron, of Morganton; brothers, Robin Alexander Dale and his wife, Teresa, and Ronald Wade Dale, both of Morganton; a grandson, Daylin Thompson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at El Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence, 125 Polly Street, Morganton. Memorial contributions may be made to El Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2518, Morganton, NC 28680. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
