Rhonda Carolyn Fleming

Rhonda Carolyn Fleming, 54, of Greenlee Ford Road, Morganton, NC died Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at her residence following a period of illness. Born in Burke County, NC on November 4, 1954, she was the daughter of Robert Horace Fleming and Irene Conley Fleming, of the home. Rhonda was a member of Asheville Street Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Continental Teves. She was an avid flower gardener and loved all of God’s creatures.In addition to her parents, Rhonda is survived by uncles and aunts, Benjamin P. Fleming and wife, Margaret, and their son, Douglas, Forrest A. Fleming and wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Sonya, and Betty M. Fleming and her daughter, Beverly J. Tuttle, all of Morganton; and a great-aunt, Dorothy Branch Robinson of Morganton.Rhonda was preceded in death by an uncle, Frank J. Fleming.The memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2009 at Asheville Street Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Goforth officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Calvin Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Asheville Street Baptist Church, 107 Colony Drive, Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
